Privacy, Images, and Copyright Notice

Light Year Lens is distributed via blind carbon copy (BCC) to protect the privacy of recipients’ email addresses. Recipients may request removal from the Light Year Lens mailing list at any time by submitting a request via return email.

The Society’s website, Light Year Lens, and other Society publications may contain images of, or references to, members, associates, and attendees participating in Society and non-Society activities. Such activities may include, but are not limited to, meetings, astro quizzes, combined society meetings, field nights, astro camps, and AstroFest. Images and references are published on the basis of implied consent arising from attendance at such events. Individuals who do not wish to be photographed, identified, or included in published material must notify the Society in writing.

The Society takes reasonable steps to handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Personal information is collected and used solely for Society-related purposes and is not disclosed to third parties except where required or authorised by law.

Members requiring a copy of the Society’s Constitution may request one by contacting the Membership Officer by mail or by making a request at a future Society meeting.

Images published in Light Year Lens and on the Society’s, website is accepted in good faith as the original work of the submitting contributor. The Society and its members accept no responsibility or liability for any infringement of intellectual property rights arising from material submitted without the permission or consent of the rightful owner.

By submitting written material, images, or other content to Light Year Lens, contributors warrant that they are the owner of the copyright in the submitted work. Contributors grant the Northern Rivers Astronomy Society Inc a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, publish, and distribute the submitted work, with appropriate attribution to the contributor as the original author.
